This smoothie is super antioxidant rich from the blueberries and the sunflower seeds supply a good amount of vitamin A, folate and selenium which is also an antioxidant. It's a fiber rich smoothie and with the addition of protein powder and coconut oil, it supplies some good protein and fat to keep you feeling full and satisfied. Almond milk supplies a good dose of calcium too. Above all, this smoothie tastes great...like a nice blueberry crisp or blueberry oatmeal.
Ingredients
2.5 cups almond milk or 1.5 cups of coconut milk + 1 cup water
⅓ cup sunflower seeds
1 tbsp chia seeds
½ tsp cinnamon
dash of allspice
dash of mace or nutmeg
pinch of salt
¼ tsp vanilla extract
2 tsp maca powder
1 tsp coconut oil
2 cups frozen blueberries
1 scoop of protein powder
Instructions
Place all ingredients in a blender.
Blend until smooth and serve.
*Because of the chia seeds, the smoothie will thicken as it sits.
